Cut-off date for divisional placement of players age as of  SEPTEMBER 30

NOTE:

Senior Division Players turning 18 years of age during the season may play in the league as long as they are still attending classes at there High School.

 

The purpose of the GTBBL Hot Line is to provide useful information pertaining to Gloucester Township Boys Basketball League activities and a means of communicating with league officials. The Hot Line can be used to answer questions, problem solving, or to report incidents related to the organization. It also serves as a source of information on game cancellations, or to direct you to Division Coordinators.

Game Cancellation Policy :

1. There will be no games if school facilities are closed.

2. Unscheduled school functions or events may arise that will have priority over outside organizations in regards to their use. The School Board will notify the league as soon as possible whenever a date is canceled.

3. If school facilities are closed because of inclimate weather all games will be canceled on Saturday.

4. The all facilities will be closed for holidays or if the holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday, games will be canceled for Saturday.

5. Games may be canceled if a referee or suitable substitute is unavailable to officiate a game.

6. Games may be canceled during the week by the league due to inclement weather if the league determines travel conditions are unsafe even if a school facility is open.


7. School Cancellations do not effect Practices or Games scheduled
at the Gloucester Township Recreation Center.
Notice of cancellation will be made by the
Gloucester Township Department of Recreation.

Conflict Resolution :
Problems arising during the coarse of the season should be handled by the teams coach whenever possible. If the problem persists and cannot be resolved by the coach, the problem may be brought to the attention of the Division Coordinator who will address the issue. In the event that the problem has not been resolved satisfactorily at this level, the issue may be presented to the GTBBL Ethics Committee and then the Executive Board for final resolution.

Misconduct :
Misconduct is behavior that is deemed to be detrimental to
the League, or the safety of others.

Fighting or threatening gestures will result in immediate expulsion from the game accompanied by a three (3) game suspension.A player or coach receiving two (2) technical fouls in a game will be expelled from the game and a one (1) game suspension will be issued to the guilty party.
Game suspensions will be served immediately starting with
the teams next scheduled game.

Foul or abusive language to another player, coach, referee, or league official, or challenging a referee's decision will result in expulsion from the game and a one (1) game suspension.

In the event that an individual is ejected from a game and refuses to leave the gym the referee has the right to hold up the game until the individual(s) leave the gym. The game will not resume until the guilty party(s) leave the facility. Refusal to leave a facility may result in a game forfeit charged to the violator's team.

Depending on the circumstances disciplinary actions from the league may range from a warning, an appearance before the leagues Ethics Committee, attendance at a sportsmanship class, suspension, or expulsion from the league.

GTBBL General Meetings:

All GTBBL coaches are required to attend mandatory league meetings which are held on the third Friday of each month during the regular basketball season. The GTBBL Basketball season runs from October thru March. Meetings are held at the Gloucester Township Municipal Building lower courtroom on Chews Landing Road. If a coach is unable to attend a meeting an Asst. Coach or a Team Representative may attend to represent the team.
